Terms of Use

These terms apply to Zipgeist, the Mac app made by Made on Sofa (“we”, “us”), and to licences for it. By downloading, installing or using Zipgeist, you agree to them.

Buying Zipgeist

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Paddle’s buyer terms apply to your purchase.

Prices are shown in US dollars; taxes are added where they apply, based on your location. Every licence is a one-time purchase. There is no subscription.

Free, trial and licences

• Zipgeist Free opens archives up to 1 GB as folders and extracts archives of any size, at no cost.
• The trial: every download includes Zipgeist Pro for 7 days.
• Zipgeist Pro includes every update for the version you buy (for example, all 1.x versions). A later major version (such as 2.0) is a separate purchase.
• Zipgeist Forever includes every future version of Zipgeist.

A licence is for you personally (or, if bought by a company, for one person in it). You can use it on up to 5 Macs at a time, and move it to another Mac by deactivating it in Zipgeist’s settings. Please don’t share your licence key or publish it.

What you may not do

You may not sell, rent, lend or redistribute Zipgeist or licence keys, work around its licence checks, or reverse engineer, decompile or modify it, except where the law allows this regardless of these terms.

Your files

Zipgeist works on your Mac: your archives and files are never sent to us. When you change an archive with Zipgeist, it writes those changes into the archive itself. Keep backups of files that matter to you, as you would with any app that changes files.

Updates

Zipgeist checks for updates and installs them when you agree. We may change, improve or stop offering features in later versions. A version you have a licence for keeps working.

Refunds and ending a licence

See our refund policy. A licence ends when its purchase is refunded or charged back, and Zipgeist then goes back to the free features. We may also end a licence that is shared publicly or used against these terms.

Warranty and liability

Zipgeist is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties beyond those you have as a consumer by law, and we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for loss of data. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for your licence. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that can’t be limited by agreement.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. Changes don’t take away anything you’ve already paid for.
